What We Do
Julie Ewart Consulting helps mission-driven organizations communicate clearly, pursue funding, and move important work forward — especially when time, capacity, or complexity gets in the way. We provide practical, hands-on communications and development support for nonprofits, schools, public-interest organizations, and community-based initiatives working to strengthen the people and communities they serve.

Our Story
Julie Ewart brings decades of communications, outreach, and public service experience to organizations working to make a positive difference in their communities.
Her career includes federal service with the U.S. Departments of Education, Veterans Affairs, and Defense, along with earlier work as a reporter for the Chicago Tribune and community newspapers in suburban Chicago. Across these roles, she has helped communicate public policies, programs, and funding in support of senior leaders and the people they serve.
After concluding a long federal career, Julie founded JE Consulting to work more directly with mission-driven organizations doing practical, community-based work. She is especially drawn to organizations that strengthen communities, expand opportunity, support recovery, and improve lives.
In addition to strategic communications expertise, Julie offers grant-writing and funding-support skills developed through coursework, hands-on volunteer support, and years of experience communicating the impact of public funding. She brings a thoughtful, reliable, and practical approach to helping organizations clarify their message, pursue resources, and build capacity.
Based in north suburban Chicago, JE Consulting is available to work with organizations locally and nationwide.
